Sierra Leone’s Young Voices successfully lobbied their government to ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. In recognition, they were invited to parliament to watch the bill being signed in July 2009 and met the country’s first lady.
There are four Young Voices groups in Sierra Leone, in Freetown, Bo, Kono and Kabala. They meet twice a month in their local Cheshire services to discuss relevant issues and plan campaigns.
